My name is Johnny Quiroz (*key rose) and I earned my degree in Digital and Photographic Imaging from Texas State University in 2003. My formal education provides a strong foundation to confidently create a broad range of images. I concentrate my efforts on commercial photography but I’m often asked to do portrait work as well. I enjoy photographing on-location and working through the challenges that are presented. I keep things simple and utilize a few off camera lights, a handful of lenses, and maybe an assistant if needed. This allows me to be extremely mobile and shoot in a very efficient manner. This approach maximizes my time photographing images that you want.
I developed my photojournalistic style while working as a photographer for the University Star (my college newspaper). While in college, I received a few awards in photojournalism from TIPA (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association). Since graduating from college, I’ve received numerous awards from the IFEA (International Festivals & Events Association) on a state, national and international level for my work with BorderFest and Hidalgo’s Festival of Lights. My images have been published over a multitude of media including on the cover of two international magazines.
